They may never know it
And neither may I.
As the days go by,
We will all go our ways.
Bonds forged, now broken.
Our time together,
Willingly shared, stolen;
Moments, now memories;
Our days, spent together.
They stand by our side
Watch over us
till finally, we fall asleep.
They stay till the end,
the silent shadows.
They stay and softly weep.
They will never know it
And neither will I.

All of lifes experiences are empty without the human touch. This is for the people Ive met along the way. Who welcomed me with open arms, whoever I may have been then.We may never ever see each other again. But whatever time we have spent together has touched us. We may never know. It just has. There are bonds that never die. But in memory leave their mark.
ReplyDeletePS: This is my way of saying thank you I think. It all means so much to me. Words are simply not enough. It is emotional and may sound weird in writing but then again words have little value. I mean everything I feel.
words are just ...fair....impartial and contradictorily inadequate.....stark.....single dimensional.....as students of language we know...the best thoughts are those unspoken......
ReplyDeleteyour poem is lovely and since your audience/readership is an intimate circle....i would say we understand ...we are a magic circle...to cry with, to laugh with, to get our egos toned , to get our dreams polished....we understand....
It amazes me each time how each one of you manages to express so very very much with a few words....Its seems that the right word can say with itself all that which the worng word would need pages to convey.
ReplyDeleteIt maybe emotional, but there's a lovely happy feeling when you read this, because it makes you recollect people you really cared about and who cared back!
